Mushrush Ranches specializes in providing Red Angus and Red Angus-influenced seedstock to the commercial cattle industry. Founded in 1950 and run by three generations, we’re passionate about bringing the highest quality genetics to your operation. The family ties to Chase Country run deep. After fighting in the Civil War, Joe Mushrush’s great-great-grandfather walked from Wisconsin to very near where the ranch is today. Seven generations later, we are still here in the Flint Hills.

The Mushrush Ranches Story
Mushrush Ranches, LLC is a multi-generation progressive grass-based ranching operation located near Strong City, Kansas. We specialize in providing Red Angus and Red Angus-influenced seedstock to the commercial cattle industry along with replacement females.
The main enterprise consists of 900 registered Red Angus cows split between both spring and fall calving herds. About 300 bulls are sold yearly in a spring production sale held on the 3rd Friday in March, in a fall production sale on the 3rd Friday of October, and through private treaty sales throughout the year.
In addition, between 400 and 500 heifers sourced from commercial customers using Mushrush genetics are developed, bred, and sold every year!

Today, three generations work and live on the ranch:

- Daniel & Christine, along with their children, Sadie, Bella, Kate & Eli
- Chris and Katie Jo
We work together as a family (through the good and the bad) and are proud to be one of the few seedstock operations of this size where the owners are intimately involved in the daily activities, whether it’s freezing cold or sweltering hot.
